Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process including assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN directs and coordinates all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals is essential to ensure effective and efficient patient care and achievement of desired patient outcomes.

This position operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures and reports to the Nurse Manager/Director.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (BSN preferred)
• Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification required
• Excellent technical, interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills

Onboarding & Credentialing Requirements

Licenses & Certifications

• Valid RN license verified through primary source verification (no conditional licenses accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA preferred, Red Cross accepted)
• MGB Badge Photo (recent color photo, no selfies or filters)

Health & Immunizations

• Fit Test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually
• MMR: Documentation of vaccination or proof of immunity
• Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions
• TB test documentation within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test), updated if >6 month break
• Health Statement signed by a licensed provider within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break
• Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity strongly preferred
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
• If positive TB test, documentation of negative chest x-ray required

Background & Professional Checks

• Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break
• Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break
• National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start and annually
• Social Security Number trace for past 7 years addresses
• Education verification of highest degree achieved
• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state
• Two recent professional references (minimum one supervisor or above)
• Skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet required for submission

Additional Requirements

• Respirator Medical Clearance attestation (part of fit test record)
• Confirmation of assignment/POI form upon acceptance and for extensions
