Radiology Technician - Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Work Schedule: Part-time, Monday & Wednesday, 7:30 AM - 8:00 PM
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 24 hours

Job Description
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and other radiographic exams as ordered by physicians.
- Prepare and position patients for imaging, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Explain procedures and address patient concerns to reduce anxiety.
- Operate and adjust radiographic equipment (X-ray machines, CT scanners, MRI scanners).
- Follow protocols to ensure optimal image quality and radiation safety.
- Use protective devices such as lead aprons and shields.
- Monitor radiation dosage and equipment performance.
- Maintain accurate patient records and use electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Education & Licenses
- Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology required (no experience in lieu of degree accepted).
- State Radiologic Technologist License required.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R) certification preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
Experience
- 2 years of experience in radiology technology required (higher value taken from 1-2 years range).
- No explicit requirement for prior travel experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of radiographic techniques, equipment operation, and patient positioning.
- Familiarity with imaging procedures and protocols (X-rays, CT scans, MRIs).
- Proficiency with radiographic equipment and software.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing and walking (34-66% of the time).
- Occasional sitting (3-33% of the time).
- Frequent lifting of 35 lbs or more.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Onboarding & Credential Requirements
- BLS certification (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military accepted).
- Primary source verification of professional license within 30 days of start date.
- N95 Fit Test within 365 days of start date, updated annually.
- Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity.
- Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions.
- TB test documentation within 3 months of start date, updated if >6 month break.
- Physician health statement within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break.
- Criminal background checks including Massachusetts CORI, national sex offender check, exclusion checks, and SSN trace.
- Resume including past 7 years of work experience.
- Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above).
- Skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet required.
Optional but preferred:
- Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity proof.
- Tdap vaccination within 10 years.
- Positive PPD with negative chest X-ray if applicable.
This position requires patient care and onsite work in Boston, MA.
