Job Opportunity: RN Telemetry I (Travel)

Location: West Liberty, Kentucky
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) with Telemetry specialty for a travel assignment. The role requires acute hospital experience and the ability to work 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratios using Meditech EMR. Orientation is bi-weekly. Candidates must reside within 100 miles of the facility.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2+ years of current acute hospital experience in specialty (Telemetry)
• Higher years of experience requirement applies: 2+ years

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Valid Kentucky RN license or compact RN license valid in Kentucky
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA only, front and back of card if not electronic)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification (AHA only, required for all RNs except Psych and True Med/Surg units)
• NIH Certification (required for RN specialties except OR and Psych)

Required Immunizations & Health Requirements

• Proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer (or first dose of series with second dose within 28-30 days)
• Proof of 3 Hepatitis B vaccine series or declination
• Proof of 2 Varicella vaccinations or positive titer (or first dose of series with second dose within 28-30 days)
• Tdap vaccination valid for 10 years (Td not accepted; declinations acceptable)
• Annual physical or physician note within 1 year prior to start, stating clear to work without restrictions
• Influenza vaccine (required October-March; medical or religious exemptions must be approved prior to start)
• TB Quantiferon blood test within 1 year prior to start
• If positive TB record, proof of chest X-ray within last 5 years plus TB questionnaire

Additional Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 30 days prior to start, including 7-year county, nationwide criminal, SSN trace, sex offender registry, SAM, OIG checks
• Drug screen within 30 days prior to start (excluding marijuana/THC)
• Verification of education and employment (7 years of relevant experience required to verify employment)
• Kentucky Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry verification within 30 days prior to start
• Skills checklist, competency exam, and telemetry/EKG exam specific to scope of practice within 1 year prior to start
• Core competencies including HIPAA, patient rights, safety orientation, infection control, elder abuse, cultural diversity, advance directives (annual update required)
• Two professional references required: one charge or higher and one supervisor reference within the last year
• Assignment confirmation form must be submitted within 24 hours of offer acceptance
• Employee health attestation form and compliance with employee health file registration

Work Schedule & Other Details

• Schedule: 36 hours worked / 48 hours off per two-week pay period (may fluctuate with census and call-ins)
• Start date on job is the start date needed
• Candidates must not be submitted to more than one job at a time

Prior Travel Experience

• No explicit prior travel experience required
