Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job in Greensboro, North Carolina

Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), every other weekend, holidays as needed
• Float: Required to float across multiple facilities as needed
• Patient Population: Primarily Medical-Surgical (MS), including observation patients, respiratory conditions, general medical surgical diagnoses, palliative/end-of-life/hospice, psychiatric observation, diabetes (new and complicated), surgical and surgical observation patients
• Electronic Medical Record: EPIC

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers are accepted (prior travel experience not required)

Required Certifications & Licenses

• RN license valid in North Carolina
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG (Dysrhythmia) exam during onboarding (required for all RNs except Behavioral Health and Case Managers)
• Additional certifications may be preferred but not required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIH Stroke Certification (required for Cardiac Progressive Care, MS/Tele units)
  • Other certifications such as PALS, NRP, TNCC, CPI may be preferred depending on unit

Required Qualifications & Compliance

• Must pass a background check covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years
• Education verification required (Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing)
• Government-issued photo ID and Social Security Card required
• Must complete a health history form and provide immunization/vaccine documentation including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • TB test or chest X-ray
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B titer or declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
• Fit mask test (N95) completed within current calendar year and updated annually
• Must submit a professional badge photo meeting strict guidelines (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire)
• Must complete EPIC test with passing score prior to clearance
• Must review and sign floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgement form

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Must have Medication Administration Badge (MAB)
• Must pass EKG exam (Dysrhythmia)
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Scheduling & Work Expectations

• Strict zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Flexible scheduling required
• May be required to float across multiple facilities within the health system

Additional Notes

• Previous Charge RN experience is preferred but not required
• Candidates must complete all compliance requirements by the deadline prior to start date
• Two supervisory references required from recent assignments (within 12 and 24 months)
• Employment application/resume with 7-year work history required
• Annual skills checklist must be maintained; failure to renew within one week results in removal from floor

This position offers an opportunity for RNs with at least 2 years of experience to work nights on a primarily medical-surgical unit with a variety of patient populations. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply. Compliance with strict credentialing, testing, and immunization requirements is mandatory.
