Job Opportunity: Telemetry Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Lubbock, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Telemetry Registered Nurse for a travel/contract position at a short-term acute care hospital with 379 staffed beds and Level II Trauma Center designation. The role involves floating between units as needed.
Work Schedule & Environment
- Weekends required: 6 shifts every 6 weeks
- On-call: Not required
- Block schedules: Not required
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5
- Dress code: Solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs for licensed nursing personnel
- Parking: Free in unrestricted employee/visitor lots
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Telemetry nursing experience of at least 1 year, with experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Required Licenses & Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification if applicable
- Other certifications may be required based on unit assignment (e.g., Chemotherapy, Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
Required Documents & Compliance
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- Immunizations: TDAP, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B (or signed declination)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred (declinations accepted)
- 9-panel drug screen within 12 months
- Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required for travel starts on or after 2/5/2024
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Education verification for nursing degree (required for international education)
- Employment application covering last 5 years
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting
Additional Requirements
- Must acknowledge and comply with float policy (may be required to float to other units/facilities within reasonable distance)
- Completion of required WorkRamp modules for regulatory, specialty, and facility-specific training prior to start and annually thereafter
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
