Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer

Location: Denmark, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Shift: Approximately 36 hours per week, Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Caseload: 10-12 cases per day
• On-call: No
• Weekend Requirement: No
• Floating: No floating between service lines or to sister facilities

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Echo Technologist, with experience within the last year
• Must hold RDCS or RCS certification
• Must hold RVT certification
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Experience as a Vascular Sonographer

Important Notes

• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks (guaranteed hours subject to this)
• During hurricane season (June-November), employees may be assigned to emergency response teams; travelers should consider this before accepting assignments during this period

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Proof of work eligibility (I-9, Social Security Card, Driver’s License/State ID)
• Background checks including 7 years of history and various federal/state registries
• Education verification (diploma or transcripts preferred)
• National certification verification and license primary source verification (South Carolina license required)
• Annual physical exam and health screenings including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination form)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
  • Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
  • Drug screening (10 panel within 90 days)
• COVID-19 vaccination records highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
• Respirator medical clearance required annually for patient-facing roles
• Facility-specific orientation modules and first day instructions must be completed prior to start
• Clear, passport-style photo required for badge issuance

Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or equivalent
• Other certifications as applicable based on unit assignment (PALS, TNCC, NIH Stroke, etc.)
• Medication/pharmacology competency exams and color blindness testing required prior to start

Additional Information

• Radiation badge not required for this position
• Facility uses Epic for charting
• Travelers must complete all required modules and documentation before orientation; failure to do so may result in being sent home
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references required
• Employment history verification of last 3 clinical employers required

This position is ideal for cardiac sonographers with dual RDCS/RCS and RVT certification looking for a travel contract in an outpatient medical pavilion setting with a stable Monday-Thursday schedule.
