Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Cath Lab

Location: San Francisco, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: Approximately 23 weeks


Job Description

  • 12-hour day shifts
  • Focus on Cardiac Cath/Interventional Cardiology
  • Experience with Structural Heart and TAVR procedures preferred
  • Responsibilities include Cath/EP and pre/post procedural care
  • Must be able to float to other facilities within the system

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in California
  • Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Current and valid government-issued photo ID matching professional license
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, nationwide and sex offender searches, and education verification
  • Primary source verification of RN license within 30 days of start
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, including physician statement of fitness to work
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask types required; onsite fit testing available as last resort)
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years, no declinations accepted without medical exemption)
    • Two negative TB tests (one within 1 year, one within 3 months of start) or chest X-ray if positive TB history
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella titers or vaccinations
    • Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination (declination must be signed within 1 year)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination (required during flu season)
    • COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption/declination as per facility policy
  • Drug testing (standard 9-panel excluding THC) within 30 days of start, renewed every 2 years
  • Completion of required competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests with passing scores (80% or higher)
  • Completion of unit-specific skills checklist annually
  • Pass/Fail Telemetry exam on first day of orientation (3 attempts allowed)

Additional Requirements

  • Two supervisory references from most recent or second most recent employment
  • Updated resume with last 7 years of work history; gaps of 30 days or more must be explained
  • Ability to complete required learning modules and orientation prior to or within the first week of assignment
  • Compliance with facility-specific policies including COVID-19 preparedness, HIPAA, and cybersecurity training

Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
  • Floating to other facilities within the system is mandatory.
  • Telemetry exam is required for all RNs working in this role.

This position is ideal for experienced cardiac cath lab RNs with strong interventional cardiology skills and the ability to adapt to multiple facility environments.
