Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse

Location: Oxford, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
  • Shifts: Friday through Sunday
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: MEDITECH (experience not required)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (ARC)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • NURSYS verification for RN license

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Proof of identity (government-issued photo ID)
  • Proof of eligibility to work (I9, E-Verify)
  • Background check: 7-year criminal history, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks
  • Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands (initial and annual)
  • Immunizations and health screenings including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
    • Annual TB questionnaire if prior positive
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer, vaccines, or declination)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
    • Varicella (positive titer, vaccines, or declination)
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug test within last 12 months
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
  • Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Completion of facility-specific training modules prior to start

Additional Notes

  • Candidates requesting religious or medical exemptions for flu vaccination must complete facility-specific exemption forms with appropriate documentation.
  • Background checks and verifications must be current and updated annually or with each contract renewal.
  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests may be required as applicable.

This position is ideal for experienced ER nurses who are flexible to work weekend shifts and have a preference or experience in travel nursing.
