Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse

Location: Oxford, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
Shifts: Friday through Sunday
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: MEDITECH (experience not required)

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (ARC)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
NURSYS verification for RN license

Required Documentation & Compliance

Proof of identity (government-issued photo ID)
Proof of eligibility to work (I9, E-Verify)
Background check: 7-year criminal history, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks
Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands (initial and annual)
Immunizations and health screenings including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
- Annual TB questionnaire if prior positive
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer, vaccines, or declination)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, vaccines, or declination)
Drug screening: 9-panel drug test within last 12 months
Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
Completion of facility-specific training modules prior to start

Additional Notes

Candidates requesting religious or medical exemptions for flu vaccination must complete facility-specific exemption forms with appropriate documentation.
Background checks and verifications must be current and updated annually or with each contract renewal.
Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests may be required as applicable.

This position is ideal for experienced ER nurses who are flexible to work weekend shifts and have a preference or experience in travel nursing.
