Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Cath Lab
Location: Kansas City, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab setting.
- Average daily census: 4 procedures per lab.
- Patient visits per day: 16.
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4 during days, 1:3 during nights.
- On-call required, including weekends.
- Floating between departments, units, and facilities may be regularly required.
- Local candidates accepted.
- No pending licenses accepted.
- Guaranteed minimum of 3 shifts per 13 weeks.
- Charting system: EPIC.
- Scrub color provided.
Required Experience & Skills
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri.
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience in both Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab procedures.
- Skills and experience with:
- Cardiac Stent Placement
- Diagnostic Catheterizations (Adult)
- IABP Placement/Removal
- Impella insertion
- Interventional Catheterizations
- Left heart catheterization
- Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI)
- Pharmacological Stress Test
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association.
License Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Missouri.
- Primary source verification of professional license required.
Additional Requirements
- On-call availability including weekends.
- Must pass various background checks including criminal background, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG.
- Education verification required.
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start.
- Fit mask (N95) testing and compliance required.
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
- Tdap vaccine or declination.
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption.
- Completion of facility-specific orientation and compliance modules.
- Competency exams including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, and unit-specific competency exams.
- References: Two professional references required, preferably supervisors within the last year.
Work Environment & Expectations
- Floating between units and facilities as needed.
- Use of EPIC electronic health record system.
- Scrub color provided.
- Must adhere to facility policies including dress code, hand hygiene, fingernail policy, and confidentiality agreements.
- Compliance with all regulatory and facility-specific education and training requirements.

- Prior travel experience is not required.
- Locals are accepted.

- Regular floating may be required to meet facility needs.
