Job Opportunity: MRI Tech

Location: New Bern, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 4x10 hour night shifts (Monday - Thursday)
• Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics, 1:1 ratio
• Equipment: Siemens 1.5T, Philips 3T MRI machines
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years MRI tech experience
• Certifications Required:

  • ARRT MR (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
  • ARRT R (Radiologic Technologist)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Additional Requirements:

  • PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) experience required
  • No first-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience required)

Required Qualifications

• Valid MRI Technologist license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel assignment
• Current ARRT MR and ARRT R certifications
• BLS certification
• PACS experience

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID
• Proof of eligibility to work (I-9, E-Verify)
• Background checks covering the last 7 years, including criminal, sex offender, and federal databases
• Drug screening (9 panel) within one year of start
• Physical exam within the last 12 months
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually (specific mask types required)
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tdap within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with exceptions for past positives)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination/titer or declination
  • Varicella vaccination/titer or history of chickenpox
• Seasonal flu vaccination or documented exemption during flu season
• COVID vaccination status disclosure (not required)

References & Evaluations

• Two professional references within the last 12 months required, at least one from a supervisor or charge nurse
• Performance evaluations required if previously employed with the organization for over 1 year

Additional Notes

• Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC certifications as applicable or required by facility (not specifically required for this role but may be preferred)
