Job Opportunity: Wound Care Registered Nurse
Location: Modesto, California

Job Summary
Provide specialized wound care nursing services including patient assessment, planning, and delivery of care. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure patient-centric, coordinated care plans. Maintain compliance with policies, regulations, and best practices to deliver safe, compassionate, and effective care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments for wound care based on patient needs and condition changes.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team to adjust and coordinate daily patient care plans.
- Communicate patient care plans effectively across shifts and departments.
- Deliver competent, compassionate, and cost-effective nursing care following evidence-based practices.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
- Delegate tasks appropriately within legal scope and team capabilities.
- Educate patients and families to support optimal care and transitions.
- Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatments and adjust care plans as needed.
- Document all care and patient information accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Uphold confidentiality and protect patient health information (PHI).
- Participate in quality improvement and safety event analysis activities.
- Stay current with advancements and best practices in wound care and nursing.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
- Minimum of 1 year of wound care experience, including experience within the last year.
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
- Verification of state license including copy of professional license, state license verification, and NURSYS verification.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check including SSN trace, county searches, sex offender, and education verification.
- FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter.
- Annual updates for EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and other regulatory checks.
- Education verification with preference for Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana due to CA law).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including clearance for work.
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- TB test or chest x-ray (annual renewal required)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (or approved declination)
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions).
- Respiratory safety clearance annually (not required for dieticians).
- Completion of facility-specific regulatory orientation and compliance documents prior to start.
Additional Requirements
- Must provide full 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days.
- Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually.
- References: 2 professional references within 3 years (Aya requirement, not client).
- Completion of competency exams as applicable (medication, dysrhythmia/EKG, etc.).
- Candidate must review and sign all required policies and attestations prior to start.
