Job Description

Provide nursing care in an outpatient cardiology clinic setting. Responsibilities include working with adult and geriatric patients who are newly diagnosed with cardiac disease, post cardiac procedures, and on cardiac maintenance therapy under cardiologist supervision. The role involves floating within the skillset, including working on the electrophysiology (EP) side of the clinic.

Required Qualifications

• Valid LPN / LVN license in Virginia
• Minimum of 1 year of Long Term Care experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Cardiology outpatient experience
• Basic cardiology skills
• Emergency response experience/ability related to cardiology
• Ambulatory Care experience
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Patient Population & Unit Details

• Patient population: Adults and geriatrics
• Nurse-to-patient ratio can be up to 1:22
• Floating required within skillset, including EP clinic duties

Additional Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, free from communicable diseases
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Fit test within 1 year, updated annually
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Immunizations or positive titers for: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Two clinical references required
• Background checks including 7-year history and federal/state screenings
• Completion of required orientation and compliance documents prior to start

• Facility allows calling off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• First-time travelers may be accepted depending on experience
• Local candidates accepted
• Requests for time off must be approved by the facility at booking

This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized cardiology outpatient setting with a structured Monday-Friday schedule and no weekend shifts.
