Job Description

• Certified Obstetrical Technician role within Surgical Services specialty.
• Requires 2 years of experience in the specialty.

Required Qualifications

• Current certification as OB Tech.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA only).
• Must pass a standard background check including:

  • 7-year location history search.
  • Sex offender registry check.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
• Education verification via transcript, diploma, or equivalent.
• Fire Card issued by an LAFD-approved instructor must be obtained within 30 days of start (Blue Fire Card only; Red card not accepted).
• Physical exam clearance within the past year.
• Fit mask testing within 12 months prior to start (acceptable masks: 3M Aura 9205+ or 3M 1860 Small).
• Required immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination.
  • Negative TB test (QGold, Tspot, or 2-step PPD) within 12 months.
  • Positive titers or boosters for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (September–March).
  • COVID vaccination or documented declination.
• 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
• Color vision exam (14-plate Ishihara test) required for certain specialties (verify if applicable).
• Completion of required competencies and exams as applicable.
• Must complete facility-specific orientation checklists within first 30 days.
• Required attestations and agreements including de-escalation modules, arbitration agreement, voluntary meal waiver, access request form, and assault responsive competency (ARC) training within 30 days of start.
• Two professional references required for travel or acute care roles.

Additional Requirements

• Candidates must provide a passport-style photo for badge issuance.
• Candidates will receive a job description via DocuSign.
• Assault Responsive Competency (ARC) training is a live 4-hour session with a fee; must be completed within 30 days of start.
• Facility-specific forms and packets must be completed and submitted as required.

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, EFM, STABLE, NIH Stroke Certification, and other certifications are not listed as requirements for this role.
• Shift is exclusively night with 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each.
