Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Fredericksburg, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Work schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts (either 7:00 AM–5:30 PM or 8:00 AM–6:30 PM)
• Rotating on-call hours for after-hours, weekends, and holidays coverage
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient ratio: 1:6
• High-volume, high-acuity cardiac catheterization lab with 3 newly renovated labs
• Approximately 12-18 cases per day, including STEMI call coverage
• Procedures include TAVRs, Watchman, Cardiomems, carotids, Impella, CTO, peripherals, TEVARS/EVARS, and STEMI cases
• Use of Philips equipment, Medrad and manifold injection systems
• Documentation systems: XPER and EPIC
• Team-oriented environment with opportunity to float to medical assignments and ED (for medical holds) within scope
• Scrubs provided

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Minimum 1 year of cardiac cath lab experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Additional Requirements

• Background checks including lifetime criminal, federal, state, and nationwide offender registry
• Education verification of highest degree required
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and documentation prior to start
• Signing of facility-specific documents including Code of Conduct, Confidentiality and Security Agreement, Job Description, Orientation Packet, and others as applicable
• Work history verification for at least 2 years required
• Employment application matching work history verification required

Work Environment & Other Details

• Floating within scope to medical and emergency department assignments as needed
• First-time travel nurses accepted
• Local candidates accepted
• Block scheduling accommodations at manager’s discretion
• On-call is not mandatory but rotating on-call coverage is required
• Return-to-work restrictions at manager’s discretion
