Job Description

  • ICU nursing position
  • Patient ratio typically 1:2, occasionally 1:3
  • Must be able to float within skillset

Requirements

Licenses & Certifications

  • New York RN license required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (valid for 2 years)
  • Epic system experience required
  • Harassment Prevention Training Certificate (New York)
  • Additional certifications preferred: CRN experience preferred, PALS, TNCC (for ER staff)

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • CRN experience preferred

Competencies

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for ICU staff, expires every 3 years)
  • Color Blind Testing (required prior to start)
  • Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)

Health & Safety

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit Mask test within 1 year and updated annually (specific mask types required)
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year (specific documentation required)
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
    • Varicella (titer, vaccine, or history of chickenpox)
  • 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Declination (required during flu season)
  • Pneumonia Vaccination or Declination required

Additional Information

  • Locals accepted within a 75-mile radius
  • Must complete facility-specific online modules prior to first shift
  • Required to sign facility-specific job description and welcome packet acknowledgements
  • Required to provide a professional photo for badge
  • Background checks and education verifications required, including:
    • 7-year residence/work/school history
    • Sex offender registry check
    • Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
    • Education verification and Florida Education Audit Confirmation (for RN/LPN)
  • References: 2 professional references for travel/allied/per diem acute care; 1 for per diem non-acute care (within 3 years)
