Job Requirements

  • Must have 2+ years of experience
  • Must hold a School Psychologist license in South Carolina
  • Work with students from Kindergarten through 12th grade
  • Prefer candidates available for face-to-face full-time work, but open to a hybrid schedule: 3 days on-site and 2 days remote
  • Schedule is non-negotiable; candidates seeking fully virtual or minimal on-site presence will not be considered

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Valid unexpired government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Completed W4, State Specific W4 (if applicable), I9, Permanent Tax Declaration, Direct Deposit Authorization, and Emergency Contact Form
  • Background Checks:
    • Criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
    • Must include SS Trace, Federal, Nationwide, County, Sex Offender Search, and South Carolina Statewide (SLED) search
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 1 year of start, updated annually
    • Name-based criminal record search and National Sex Offender Registry check required (fingerprinting not required but may be conducted by the school district)
  • Fingerprint Clearance Attestation must be completed and on file prior to start if the school runs their own fingerprinting
  • South Carolina Sex Offender Registry Search required

Certifications & Licenses

  • School Psychologists:
    • South Carolina School Psychologist license required
    • State licensure from LLR not required for School Psychologists
    • CPR and BLS certifications not required for School Psychologists
  • Educational Services State Teaching Certificate:
    • Must have SCDE certificate prior to start for the 2025-26 school year
    • If submitted without certification, written confirmation and approval are required
  • Mandatory Reporter Training:
    • South Carolina Mandated Reporter Training required and must be updated annually
  • Other Certifications:
    • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required annually
    • License and certification verifications will be conducted twice: at receipt of assignment and 30 days prior to start

Health & Safety Requirements

  • TB Testing:
    • SC State Mandated requirement: Facility-specific SC School Employee TB Form completed by a physician or nurse practitioner within 1 year of hire
    • TB form must be completed prior to clearance; no pend allowed at start
    • Aya’s TB Questionnaire required annually for all SC candidates
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray: Required with the TB form; returning candidates without a break in employment may not need annual testing
  • Physical Exam: Not required unless requested by the client
  • Drug Testing: Not required unless specifically requested by the client
  • Vaccinations (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu, COVID-19): Not required unless specified by client or state

  • Candidates must complete an online application if the school district runs their own background checks
  • Fingerprinting is generally not required but may be requested by the school district
  • Candidates must comply with all school district and state-specific documentation and verification processes prior to start
