Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics - Travel/Contract

Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Requirements

• Licensing:

  • Nebraska state license in hand preferred (licensing process takes 6-8 weeks; start date adjusted accordingly)
  • Primary source verification required prior to start
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA required
  • CRT required, RRT preferred
  • PALS, NRP, NIH Stroke Certification as applicable
• Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience preferred
  • At least 1 year experience at a large (>500 bed) Level 1 Trauma, Academic Medical Center required
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • Epic charting experience preferred
• Other:

  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Candidate must be located more than 100 miles from the facility (no locals accepted)

• 718 acute-care bed facility
• Level 1 Trauma Center
• Academic Medical Center affiliated with University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC)
• Provides care for complex and critically ill patients

Required Background and Compliance Checks

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Background check within 30 days of start, including:

  • SSN trace, nationwide sex offender, education verification, federal enhanced search
  • Review for theft, drug offenses, assault, violent crimes, and other specified offenses
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and monthly thereafter
• Nebraska DHHS Adult & Child Services Registry Search within 30 days of start
• Education verification and transcript/diploma required
• References: 2 work references from past 2 years (or most recent employer if not currently traveling)
• Annual skills checklist required

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Fit mask test (3M 1860 Small/Regular or 3M 1870+) within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations and testing:

  • Tdap/Tetanus vaccine within last 10 years
  • Annual PPD or equivalent TB testing, chest x-ray if history of positive PPD
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters if low/equivocal titers
  • Hepatitis B titer required (declination acceptable if non-reactive)
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters if low/equivocal titers
  • Flu vaccine preferred (documentation or declination required)
  • COVID vaccine preferred (medical/religious exemption or declination accepted)
• Drug screen within 60 days of start, updated annually (urine panel including multiple substances)
• Eye exam (Snellen) required if working in OR, within 30 days of start
