Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)
• Shift: 1900-0730 (3x12 hour shifts)
• Every other weekend required
• Locals within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• MS/Tele (Medical-Surgical/Telemetry) and Telemetry experience required
• Experience with surgical cases required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Prior travel experience: Not required

Certifications & Exams

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
• Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:

  • Minimum overall score of 80%
  • 100% score on lethal rhythms section
• Additional certifications may be required based on unit description (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM)
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exams required within 3 years, passing score 80% or higher
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam must be current (within 1 year) and updated annually

Licensure & Background

• Valid state nursing license required prior to start
• Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
• Education verification required
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), updated annually
• E-Verify and I9 documentation required
• Physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations, free from communicable disease
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Tdap within 10 years preferred
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray as applicable
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination
  • Varicella documentation or titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season

Additional Requirements

• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
• Skills checklist required prior to start and updated annually
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules (SITELS) before hire date
• Photo for badge with specific guidelines (clear, centered, no glare, solid background)
• Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual
• N95 fit test within 9 months of start and updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)

Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract for a Registered Nurse with Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience in Leonardtown, MD. Candidates must have at least 2 years of relevant experience, pass a specialized EKG exam, and hold current BLS and ACLS certifications. First-time travelers are welcome. The role requires weekend availability every other weekend and completion of various health, background, and competency verifications prior to start.
