Job Details

• Shift: Mid shifts, Monday through Friday, 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM (5x8)
• On-call: Every other weekend, 7 AM – 7 PM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend may be required, inclusive of on-call
• Holidays: Required as scheduled
• Floating: Required within the specialty and department as needed
• Work Setting: Multispecialty surgeries performed in an OR setting
• Equipment Used: Sterrad, Steris autoclave washers

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Sterile Processing
• First-time travelers will be considered if they have strong skills and meet the minimum experience requirement
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Required Licenses and Certifications

• IAHCSMM or HSPA certification required

Required Qualifications and Compliance

• Background checks including 7-year criminal search, education verification, and various federal/state screenings
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative drug screen (9 or 10 panel depending on facility) within 30-45 days prior to start
• Fit mask test (N95 respirator) within 1 year of start
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if working with children)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (positive titer or vaccination)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required for flu season
• COVID vaccine not required for this location but documentation may be collected for tracking
• Two supervisory references within 1 year of start
• Employment application/resume within 30 days of start
• Verification of previous 5 years of employment history

Additional Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific documents such as confidentiality agreements, dress code review, and computer system agreements prior to start
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
• Photo for badge with specific background requirements

Summary

This is a travel contract position for a Sterile Processing Tech with a minimum of 2 years of experience, working primarily mid shifts in a surgical services environment. The role requires certification (IAHCSMM or HSPA), on-call availability every other weekend, and compliance with extensive health, background, and competency requirements. Prior travel experience is not mandatory.
