Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required.
• Moderate sedation experience required.
• 1st time travelers are acceptable if they have experience with moderate sedation.
• Prior travel experience is not required.

Skills & Competencies

• Skilled in Moderate Sedation
• Experience with:

  • Transesophageal Echo
  • Cardioversion
  • Dobutamine Stress
  • Tilt Table Testing

Work Requirements

• Ability to work at assigned location for the full contract term.
• Ability to work the majority of the assigned shift.
• Ability to take call.
• Ability to work assigned weekends.
• Ability to work at least 50% of holidays during the contract.

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC Provider card required for all RNs.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for RNs in Cath Lab, CCU, CVICU, Endo/GI, ER, GI Lab, ICU, Interventional Radiology, L&D, MICU, Neuro ICU, PACU, SICU, and Tele.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for ER, Pediatrics, PICU.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required for L&D, NICU, Post Partum, Nursery RNs.
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Required for ER RNs starting 11/5/2024.
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – Required for L&D RNs, must be updated every 2 years.
• CHEMO (Chemotherapy Certification) – Required for Oncology (new requirement as of 3/28/2025).
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – Required for Psych/Behavioral Health RNs.

Licensure & Verification

• Missouri state nursing license with primary source verification required within 60 days of start.
• NURSYS verification required within 60 days of start.

Background & Screening Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 60 days of start.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG exclusions checks required within 60 days of start.
• International background check required if candidate has traveled outside the USA in the last 7 years.
• Missouri Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) or Missouri Caregiver search must be on file within 60 days before starting.
• Drug screening: Negative 7-panel drug test required within 60 days of start.

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Fit mask test valid within 1 year (3M 1870+, 1860R, 1860S, 9205).
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years or approved exemption.
• Negative TB test (QGold, TSpot, or 2-step PPD) within 1 year or chest x-ray for positive TB history.
• Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines required.
• Hepatitis B series or positive/reactive titer required; declinations no longer accepted for new candidates after 7/1/2023.
• Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required.
• Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/01 - 03/31).

Documentation & Other Requirements

• 2 professional references within the last 2 years required.
• Resume must include at least 7 years of employment history with no gaps greater than 30 days.
• Photo for badge required for new candidates (head and shoulders, neutral background).
• Completion of facility-specific forms including confidentiality agreements, employment eligibility, and caregiver registration forms.

This position requires a dedicated nurse with moderate sedation skills, flexibility to work varied shifts including holidays and weekends, and compliance with comprehensive credentialing, background, and health requirements.
