Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in skilled home health care, including wound care and teaching.
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide skilled home health care services.
• Manage wound care and patient teaching regarding medications and treatments.
• See approximately 6 patients per day.
• Perform vital sign monitoring, pain assessment and management.
• Communicate patient status changes to RN/MD.
• Handle pharmacy calls and patient refill requests.

Certifications & Licenses

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Infection control knowledge required.

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to drive to patient homes (valid driver's license and clean driving record mandatory).
• Locals to the area are allowed to apply.
• Mileage reimbursed at IRS rate.

Compliance & Documentation

• Background check: 7-year criminal history check required, including DMV driving record with at least 5 years of driving history.
• Drug screening within the last 12 months.
• Physical exam within the last 12 months.
• Immunizations and health documentation required, including:

  • TB testing and clearance
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella vaccinations or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B series or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or history
  • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (medical/religious exemptions accepted with approval)
  • COVID vaccination preferred
• Photo for badge (recent, professional headshot).
• Completion of facility-specific policies and agreements (confidentiality, dress code, safety, drug-free policy, hand hygiene, etc.).
• References: 2 professional references required.
• Employment application/resume required.

Competencies & Testing

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
• Pass/fail testing (e.g., EKG/medication) during orientation.
• Core training and safety manual acknowledgment required.

This position is ideal for RNs with home health care experience who are comfortable managing wound care and patient education in a travel/contract role.
