Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Shift: 3x12 hour Night shifts
- Schedule: Weekdays with occasional weekends and rotating holidays
- Floating: Must be willing to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1 nurse to 5 patients
- Key Skills: IV starts, telemetry monitoring, Epic documentation system
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 4 years experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/TELE)
- Minimum 2 years experience specifically in PCU (Progressive Care Unit)
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred (not required)
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
Additional Requirements
- Must maintain current state nursing license
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history and fingerprinting (BCI/FBI) required
- Education must be from an accredited nursing program
- Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG required
- Physical exam and immunizations/vaccinations required (see below)
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start
- References: 2 professional references required, including at least 1 from a manager or formal leadership
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- TB questionnaire in lieu of annual TB test renewal
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters if low titer
- Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; medical exemption possible with documentation
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended
Important Notes
- No Return to Office (RTO) from 2/15/26 through 2/28/26
- Dynamic and challenging work environment
- Must complete all required background checks, certifications, and health documentation prior to start
- Facility requires fingerprinting with specific codes and timely completion
- Competency exams and certifications must be current and maintained annually where applicable
