Location: Wichita, Kansas

Job Summary

Seeking a Home Health Registered Nurse to provide care primarily for geriatric patients. The role involves managing an average of 5-7 patients per day within a territory up to a 60-mile radius from the office hub. Flexibility with travel within the territory is expected.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas
  • Minimum of 1 year of Home Health nursing experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience with OASIS (Outcome and Assessment Information Set) documentation

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Comprehensive background checks required within 90 days of start, including but not limited to:
    • SSN Trace
    • County searches for last 7 years of residence/work/school
    • FACIS Level 1
    • Nationwide Sex Offender Registry
    • Motor Vehicle Records
    • Education and Work History Verification
  • Fingerprinting may be required depending on state placement
  • State-specific background checks and registries as applicable
  • Verification of highest degree related to profession
  • NURSYS verification for RN license
  • Signed acknowledgment of Orientation Safety Manual (updated annually)
  • Compliance with agency background attestations

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within the last 12 months (not required annually)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Required immunizations or proof of immunity/vaccination for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination form during flu season
  • COVID vaccination or facility-specific declination

Additional Documentation

  • Proof of current auto insurance (required for all Home Health positions involving driving)
  • Facility-specific policies and forms, including Acceptable Use Policy and flu/COVID statements
  • Employment application with full 7 years of work history, no gaps
  • Two professional references within 2 years of start date

  • Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
  • Candidates must be flexible with travel territory and able to meet documentation and compliance deadlines.
  • Scrubs dress code is strictly enforced; no jeans allowed.
