Job Opportunity: MRI Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Minimum 1 year of experience required in the specialty
- Experience with Philips MRI machines required
- Epic electronic health record experience required
- Weekend requirement: One weekend every 3 weeks (Friday through Monday morning)
- On-call requirement: One weekday night call per week
- Scrubs: Any color allowed
- Strict 5 days maximum return to office (RTO) policy
Required Certifications and Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT(MR) OR AMRIT, & LSRT (Temporary LSRT accepted; takes 3-5 days to issue once fee and proof of ARRT are received)
Required Qualifications
- Must hold a valid license appropriate for MRI Technologist in the state of Louisiana
- Must have at least 1 year of experience as an MRI Tech
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
Work Schedule and Requirements
- Weekend shifts: One weekend every 3 weeks
- Night call: One weekday night call per week
- No float requirement
Additional Notes
- Background checks and verifications required, including but not limited to:
- Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Drug screening required within 30 days of start
- Immunizations and health documents required, including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
- Varicella vaccinations or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption/declination (required Oct 1 – March 31)
- Employment application must include 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days
Appearance and Competency Requirements
- Scrubs of any color allowed
- Medication, pharmacology, and competency exams required annually with minimum passing scores
- Must comply with employee appearance policy
This position is ideal for MRI Technologists with experience on Philips machines and Epic systems, who are comfortable with weekend and night call shifts and meet the required certifications and licensure.
