Job Opportunity: MRI Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks

Work Schedule

• Friday to Sunday
• May float to another hospital location

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years experience preferred at a Level 1 Trauma Center or teaching facility
• Experience with Siemens MR required
• Experience with anesthesia and pediatric patients
• Epic and PACS experience preferred

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ARRT (R) and ARRT (MR) certifications required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) accepted in lieu of PALS
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required for Labor & Delivery
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit specifics (e.g., CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, CPI)
• State license not required for this position

Skills & Competencies

• MRI Safety knowledge including implant research and scanning guidelines adherence
• Must pass facility-specific competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency exams
• Must complete facility-required pass/fail testing (e.g., EKG exam) with limited attempts
• Color blindness testing required
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required

Background & Health Requirements

• Background checks including criminal, sex offender, education verification, and others required and must be current
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, or PA, confirming good health and ability to perform job duties
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (specific mask types accepted)
• Immunizations and health screenings required and must be current:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual renewal)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (immunity or boosters required)
  • Hepatitis B (immunity or declination, renewed annually)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination/documentation required annually (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
  • COVID vaccination or approved exemption required; booster preferred but not required
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, updated annually

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references verified within 6 months of start
• Employment application with explanation for any gaps over 30 days
• Employment verification for the past 7 years required
• Skills checklists must be current and renewed annually
• Local travelers within 75 miles are not accepted for this position

Requirements/Qualifications

• MRI Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
• MRI Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ARRT certification
• Experience working with pediatric patients
• MRI Safety knowledge, including the ability to research implants and adhere to scanning guidelines
• Experience with Siemens MR
