Job Description

Position: OR Circulating RN (maternity leave coverage starting mid-March)
Float between units as needed
On-call required: 1 weekend every 5-6 weeks, 1 night every week
Weekend on-call required
No block schedules required
Expected patient ratio: 1:1 in OR
Ability to scrub helpful but not required
Must have a vehicle for assignment
Floating may include other units and facilities within the region

Certifications Required

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - as applicable
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - as applicable
Other certifications may be required based on unit and clinical track (e.g., Chemotherapy, EFM, CPI)
State RN license and NURSYS verification required

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

Background Check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
Immunizations and Health Documents:
- TDAP (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccine or declination
Respirator Fit Testing (Fit Mask) required for travel starts after 2/5/2024, updated annually
References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
Employment Application covering at least last 5 years

Additional Requirements

Must complete Providence Health and Services - Oregon and regional WorkRamp training modules prior to start, including:
- Core regulatory modules
- Specialty-specific modules for OR and float pool
- Epic training modules (required within a week of orientation)
Float Policy Acknowledgement required (may float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance)
Vehicle required for assignment and floating between facilities
Badge photo required for ID

Work Schedule and Floating

Floating between multiple Providence facilities in Oregon and nearby locations (Milwaukie, Newberg, Portland, Hood River, Willamette Falls, Seaside, Saint Vincent)
Floating to Seaside includes additional incentives and hotel accommodations for consecutive shifts
On-call shifts include 1 weekend every 5-6 weeks and 1 night every week
