Job Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- Shift:
- Call: 2-3 weeknights (11:30 PM - 8:00 AM)
- 1-2 weekends per six-week schedule (8:00 AM - 8:00 PM or 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM)
- On-call: Yes
- Floating: No floating between units required
- Block Schedule: May be accommodated at manager's discretion
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
- First-timers: Accepted
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – if applicable
- Chemotherapy Certification – if applicable
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) – if applicable
- IV Certification (LVN/LPN/Other) – if applicable
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) – if applicable
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – if applicable

Background Checks

- Includes SSN Trace, Death Master Index, Counties, Nationwide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3, Education Verification, MVR (if Home Health), and International Background Search (if applicable)
- Background must be updated annually
- New background not required if currently working at another Providence facility with less than 30-day gap
Health Documents
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start (signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO)
- Fit Mask test (annual, onsite if no recent record)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer or declination
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer or declination
- 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respiratory Safety Clearance (annual for travel)
Employment History & References
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
- Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years (6 months for CNAs)
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
- Competency Exam for specialty as applicable
- Color Blind Testing if required by unit
- Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring Assessment or EFM certification for L&D RNs
Training & Modules
- Completion of Providence WorkRamp Core and Specialty Modules required prior to start
- Epic training modules required (especially for SoCal region)
- Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules must be maintained
- Modules assigned based on region, specialty, and facility
Additional Notes
- Float Policy Acknowledgement required; may be asked to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
- Pending license applications are not accepted
