Job Opportunity: LVN / LPN - Outpatient Cardiology Clinic

Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Role: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in an outpatient cardiology clinic
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
• No weekend shifts required
• Floating within skillset may be required
• Work with adult and geriatric patients who are newly diagnosed with cardiac disease, post cardiac procedures, or on cardiac maintenance therapy under cardiologist care

Required Experience & Skills

• Specialty: Cardiology outpatient experience including basic cardiology skills
• Core clinical duties: Rooming patients, calling in prescriptions, returning patient calls, completing patient forms
• EPIC charting experience required
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required; acceptance of first-time travelers depends on candidate’s experience
• Locals are not accepted for this position

Licensure & Certifications

• Must hold an active Virginia State or Compact RN/LPN license, or a single-state license from a non-compact state (pending license accepted under certain conditions)
• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background check: 7-year history required within 1 year of start
• E-Verify or attestation required
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming freedom from communicable diseases
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (not required for students)
• Immunizations or positive titers required for: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Flu vaccination or mask/declination form during flu season
• Photo for badge required (professional quality)
• Completion of new hire paperwork and orientation manual prior to start

Additional Notes

• Call-off policy: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Return to office (RTO) requests must be approved by the facility
• Residency declaration form required if working on a compact license
• Two clinical references required
• Employment application/resume and annual skills checklist required
