Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Interventional Radiology Tech)
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Schedule: 7am - 5pm, rotated weekends
Experience Required: Minimum 1+ year in specialty with neuro experience

Job Description

  • Position requires Interventional Radiology Tech with neuro experience.
  • Local same rate.
  • Rotated weekends required.

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA only.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA only.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA only, if applicable.
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – Required for specific units.
  • CCRN (Critical Care RN) – Required for Acute Dialysis (if applicable).
  • Tech Certification Verification – National certification required as applicable (e.g., NBRC for RRTs, CBSPD/IAHCSMM for Sterile Processing Techs).
  • State License Verification – Must be completed within 30 days of start.
  • NIH Stroke Certification – Required for certain units (Prep Recovery and Interventional Radiology).

Background Checks & Compliance

  • Criminal background check within 6 months of start (7-year search including alias, county, and national sex offender searches).
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks must be run within 30 days of start and updated monthly.
  • Photo for badge required 2 weeks prior to start (plain background, jpeg).
  • Facility-specific compliance checklists and online training modules must be completed prior to orientation.
  • Fingernail policy must be signed prior to start.

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, PA, NP, or DO confirming fitness for duty.
  • N95 mask fit testing within 1 year (not required for Sterile Processing Techs, Clerical, or Remote positions).
  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years of start.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol.
  • Annual TB questionnaire required.
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella.
  • Hepatitis B vaccine series or positive titer or declination (Surface AG and AB titers required for renal dialysis assignments).
  • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start.
  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Dec 1 - Apr 30).

Competency Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable.
  • Color Blind Testing (14 plate Ishihara exam).
  • Unit-specific competency exams (updated every 3 years).
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam for applicable RNs.
  • Core training parts I, II, III (annual updates).
  • OSHA mandatory training (annual update).

Documentation & History

  • Minimum 1 professional reference from management and 1 employment verification covering 1 year of experience within the past 2 years.
  • Employment application must be submitted.
  • Unit-specific skills checklist required.
