Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech

Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5 days a week, 40 hours/week)
Call Requirement:

  • Call once every 9 weeks
  • Weekday call usually ends by 6 PM unless a late patient arrives
  • Weekend call coverage from 8 AM to 5 PM for specific urgent cases; minimal call-ins historically

Job Description

  • Provide patient care in General Nuclear Medicine (routine studies such as Bones, Gastrics, Hepatos, Renals, etc.)
  • Nuclear Medicine experience required
  • PET/CT experience preferred but not mandatory; if PET/CT trained, potential rotation through PET department
  • Use Siemens imaging equipment (Symbia, Intevo SPECT/CT, Biograph MCT Flow PET/CT)
  • Good communication skills, attention to detail, and patient-centered care approach required
  • Local travelers within 75 miles are not accepted

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Kentucky
  • Minimum of 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Certifications & Competencies

  • Must maintain current BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
  • Additional certifications may be required based on unit specifics (review prior to start)
  • Must complete required competency exams annually via designated platforms (e.g., medication/pharmacology, unit-specific competencies, math ability) with passing scores
