Shift Details

• Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• No block scheduling
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
• No call requirements
• Request Time Off (RTO) allowed up to 5 days max, no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO on holidays, weekends, or the day before/after a holiday

Job Description

• Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN MS)
• Facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Mandatory floating within scope of practice; floating may occur mid-shift to meet facility needs
• Charting system: Cerner
• Scrub color: any color allowed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months, signed by PA, NP, DO, or MD; updated annually
• Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 12 months, updated annually; PPDs not accepted after 12/15/2025
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination within 12 months
• 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola, Mumps, and Rubella; booster required for low titers
• Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination within 1 year
• 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer; booster required for low titers
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – May 4); declinations not accepted by facility
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; testing initiated within 48 hours of signed contract; marijuana testing not required
• Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year; medical or religious exemptions require approval for onsite PAPR use

Competency Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required within 12 months prior to start)
• Color Blind Testing (required within 12 months prior to start)
• General Competency Exam (required within 12 months prior to start)

Additional Notes

• Locals accepted, preferred within 75 miles radius of facility
• Facility requires completion of PromisePoint EMR training modules prior to start (approx. 2 hours)
• References and employment application required per state and agency standards
• Background check within 12 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years; includes SSN trace, nationwide sex offender, OFAC, and other standard checks
• Additional state-specific registry checks required for aides and nursing assistants, not for RNs
