Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:3.5
- Documentation System: EPIC

- Weekend Work: Every other or every third weekend
- Orientation: 36 hours

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
- Clinical skills including procedural sedation and dysrhythmia interpretation
Background and Screening Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific code 3701.881)
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
- Education accreditation verification from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA)
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Immunizations and health documentation:
- Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- Annual TB questionnaire
- 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola, Mumps, and Rubella
- Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
- 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer (medical exemption requires documentation)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
- Fit mask test required annually for inpatient/patient-facing roles (valid for entire assignment length or completed onsite during first week)
Additional Requirements
- 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership; charge RN acceptable as second reference)
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement
- Fraud, waste, and abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
- Background acknowledgement form required for subcontractors
- Dress code and hand hygiene policy must be reviewed and signed

- Fingerprinting results must be obtained prior to start; new fingerprinting required if break in service exceeds 90 days or results are older than 1 year
- Dysrhythmia/EKG exam remediation process in place if needed
- Facility may require renewal of certifications onsite if expired during assignment
This position is ideal for experienced ER Registered Nurses licensed in Ohio who are comfortable working nights in a high-acuity trauma and stroke-certified environment and are open to travel assignments.
