Clinical Nutrition Manager - Travel/Contract

Location: Sacramento, California
Contract Length: 26 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Pediatric Dietitian with a minimum of 2 years of pediatric acute care experience. First-time travel healthcare workers are welcome to apply. This role involves working 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM), with floating responsibilities and weekend rotation approximately every 2 months with the adult inpatient team.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license in California.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RDN, including experience within the last year.
• Experience working with pediatric patients in acute care, clinic, and outpatient settings.
• Experience in manager roles.
• Proficient in enteral and parenteral nutrition.
• Experience with acute myocardial infarction (MI) and diabetic ketoacidosis.
• Knowledge of hyperemesis, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and effects of pressor use on gastrointestinal functioning.
• Familiarity with dialysis, hemodialysis, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).
• Experience managing acute and chronic kidney disease.
• Knowledge of immunosuppressants and aspiration safety.
• Experience working with cancer patients.

Shift Details

• Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (5x8 schedule).
• Floating required.
• Weekend rotation approximately every 2 months or as needed.

Required Compliance and Documentation

• Valid driver’s license/state ID (clear photo required).
• Criminal background check within 30 days of start (7-year search including SSN trace, all counties/states lived/worked, national sex offender search, and nationwide criminal search).
• E-Verify compliance.
• Education verification if applicable.
• Physical exam cleared within one year of start.
• Fit mask testing (N95 or equivalent) within one year of start.
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within past 10 years (no declinations accepted).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start (or documented positive with chest X-ray and questionnaire).
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella: positive titers or two vaccines after age 1 (boosters required if negative/equivocal; no declinations accepted except approved medical exemptions).
  • Hepatitis B titer required; if negative, signed declination or vaccine series accepted.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination required by November 1.
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start.
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and compliance training prior to start.
• Signed confidentiality statement and HIPAA training confirmation required before start.
• Employment application covering last 3 years with explanation of gaps over 6 months.
• Two clinical references required, including one from most recent employer or within last 6 months.
• Unit-specific skills checklist required.

• Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted.
