Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
• On-Call Requirement:

  • 1 weekend per month
  • 1-2 weeknights per week
  • Approximately 8-9 on-call days per month

Required Qualifications

• License: Current Ohio RN license or Compact RN license
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of CVOR nursing experience (adult or pediatric)
• Travel Experience: At least 1 completed travel assignment in CVOR required
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Preferred Skills: All CVOR skills are preferred

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Identification: Current government-issued photo ID matching legal name on RN license and certifications (no temporary IDs accepted initially)
• Background Checks:

  • Criminal background check within 30 days of start (7-year search including all counties lived/worked)
  • Education verification through National Student Clearinghouse (standalone verification)
  • International background check if applicable
  • Sex offender search, state-specific searches, and abuse registry checks within 30 days of start
• Fingerprinting: Ohio BCI/FBI fingerprinting required within 60 days of start; must be updated for each new contract
• State License Verification: Must be verified within 30 days of start
• Drug Screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start
• References: Two professional references required (manager or supervisor; charge RN acceptable; peer references not accepted)
• Resume/Application: Copy required
• Skills Checklist: Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be updated annually

Health and Safety Requirements

• Vaccinations and Immunizations:

  • TDAP vaccine within the last 10 years (no titer substitution)
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 31 – May 31); medical/religious exemptions require facility approval and documentation
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): Positive titer or proof of 2 vaccines required; boosters required if titers are negative or equivocal
  • Varicella: Positive titer or proof of 2 vaccines required; boosters required if titers are negative or equivocal
  • Hepatitis B: Declination, completed 3-vaccine series, or positive titer required
• Tuberculosis (TB):

  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within last 12 months required
  • Positive TB responders must complete TB questionnaire and follow facility protocol
• Fit Testing: N95 fit testing required within 1 year of start and updated annually; onsite testing allowed if prior testing not completed before start
• Physical Exam: Must be free of communicable diseases; physical exam within 1 year of start required by agency standards (facility accepts signed infection control policy in lieu of physical copy)

Additional Notes

• Legal name on all documents must match exactly (including middle name if applicable)
• Temporary IDs and driver’s licenses are not accepted for initial credentialing
• Fingerprinting results may pend at start; facility can complete onsite fingerprinting if needed
• Candidates with Ohio driver’s licenses within 60 miles of the facility are considered local and may not qualify for travel status
• All certifications must be American Heart Association (AHA) approved where applicable (e.g., ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP)
• Screenshots or photos of certifications and compliance documents are not acceptable
• Candidates undergoing name changes must provide proof and obtain approval
