ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - San Francisco, CA
Position Overview
- Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse
- Location: San Francisco, California
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (1900-0730)
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours
- Floating: As needed
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Minimum 3 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including ICU experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Shift Details
- Night shift: 1900 to 0730
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
- Weekend rotation required
- No on-call duties
Background and Compliance
- Extensive background checks including nationwide and international searches if applicable
- FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
- Education verification required (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)
- Various facility-specific documents and policies must be reviewed and signed prior to start (e.g., Standards of Business Conduct, Code of Conduct, Vendor Training)
- Religious exemption requests for facial hair and certain vaccines considered on a case-by-case basis
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam and immunizations as listed above
- Fit mask testing with accommodations for failures or religious exemptions
- TB screening and respiratory safety clearance
- Drug screening excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per California law
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season
Additional Notes
- Candidates will be required to complete a unit-specific skills checklist annually
- References: 2 professional references required within 3 years for clinical acute care candidates
- Candidates must review and sign multiple facility-specific policies and attestations prior to start
- Pending background check attestations are generally not accepted at this facility
This position is ideal for experienced ICU Registered Nurses licensed in California who are comfortable working night shifts in a fast-paced critical care environment and meeting comprehensive compliance and health requirements.
