Job Description

An Occupational Therapy Assistant supports the Occupational Therapist in delivering therapy treatments aimed at improving patients’ mobility and physical health. Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting patients with exercises and treatment plans
• Monitoring patient progress to ensure successful completion of treatment
• Encouraging patients during their recovery process
• Helping patients improve quality of life by finding solutions to their problems
• Assisting injured employees in improving motor skills to re-enter the workforce
• Teaching patients with disabilities to become more independent
• Updating patient records for the Occupational Therapist
• Maintaining the office, treatment room, and equipment
• Teaching patients, family members, or caregivers skills and techniques to support treatment programs

Requirements

• Experience: 2 years of Occupational Therapy experience preferred
• Setting Experience: Long-Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation experience preferred
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • COTA license (required)
  • CPR certification (required)
  • BLS (AHA) certification required
• State License: Missouri (Compact license allowed)
