Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (3N MICU)

Location: Marshfield, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Specialty

• ICU RN - 3N MICU
• Required ICU experience: 2 years
• Prior travel experience: 1 year travel experience required
• Must have Cerner experience

Certifications Required

• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• NIHSS

Unit Details

• Unit: 3N MICU
• Beds: 16
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2, 1:1 for higher acuity patients
• Common patient diagnoses: Respiratory, Stroke, Neurological, GI, Cardiac, etc.
• Charge nurse does not take patient assignments
• Nurse aids: 1 per unit to support nursing staff
• Hospitalists/Intensivists: Two pulmonologists with resident teams during the day; one team at night
• Respiratory Therapist coverage: 24/7 in ICU
• Respiratory equipment: Vents, BiPAP/CPAP, Vapotherm, Trachs, Nitric oxide

Nursing Responsibilities

• RNs required to titrate many drips (including all ICU drips, propofol, precedex, vasopressors)
• RNs read their own telemetry strips and must be proficient in rhythm interpretation

Scheduling & Shifts

• Shift times: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
• Self-scheduling allowed but with lower priority for agency staff
• Weekend requirement: Every other or every third weekend, depending on schedule needs
• Holiday requirement: Every other holiday or more if willing
• No call or standby requirement
• Floating: Agency staff float first to like units or as patient observers within hospital

Orientation

• One day hospital orientation
• Two days unit-specific orientation

Dress Code

• No specific scrub color required
• Clean and professional appearance expected

Additional Notes:

• Clinicians who have previously worked at this facility must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
• All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
