Labor and Delivery RN

Location

• Garden City, Kansas

Contract

• 13 weeks
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour night shifts

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
• NRP
• LDRP experience
• Couplet care experience
• Ability to circulate in the OR
• Ability to titrate pitocin

Schedule

• Every other weekend
• Call required per policy
• Floating required per policy

Unit Details

• Labor and delivery / postpartum / mother-baby unit
• 12 LDRP rooms
• 1 OR suite on the unit for C-sections
• 1 triage bed
• 12 postpartum beds
• About 1.5 births per day

Additional Information

• Charge nurse typically has an assignment
• No adult telemetry on the unit
• Fetal monitoring is required
• No OB/neonatologist in house 24/7
• No anesthesia in house 24/7
• No respiratory therapy equipment on the unit
• 1 surgical tech on the unit
• Orientation includes 1–2 shifts
• Clinicians must be in state for the week of orientation
• Must float between L&D, postpartum, mother-baby/baby, and helping hands to other units as needed
• Potential to be put on call
