NICU Registered Nurse

Location

Kearney, Nebraska

Contract Length

13 weeks

Schedule

12-hour nights
36 hours per week
Shift time: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
Every 3rd weekend
Rotating holidays
May be placed on call if patient volumes are low

Unit Details

Level II NICU/Nursery
11 beds across 9 rooms
Ratios vary by acuity, up to 1:2/3 for feeder-growers
NNP in house 24/7
Monitors on the unit; RN reads monitor strips
Respiratory therapy manages vents and CPAP

Required Qualifications

RN license
BLS certification
NRP certification
Ability to function as charge RN in a Level II facility
Comfortable working as the baby nurse at delivery
Experience with deliveries and C-sections
Ability to run bubble CPAP, ventilators, and newborn admissions
Ability to titrate drips

Preferred Experience

Charge RN experience

Responsibilities

Care for early gestation infants
Manage fluids, TPN, and blood drips
Float to Postpartum if the NICU is closed
