Overview

• Travel contract in Bakersfield, California
• 13-week contract
• 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Evening and night shifts

Required Qualifications

• Active BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CA License
• 3 full years of experience
• Experience in triage
• Experience with both Peds and Adults
• Significant Peds ER experience
• Travel experience required
• No first-time travelers

Unit Details

• Adult ER has 36 treatment areas
• Peds ER has 12 treatment areas and 8 pods for the fast track area
• Approx. 325 visits per day between both ERs
• 30,000 pediatric ER visits per year
• Separate psych/seclusion rooms: No
• In-house security: Yes
• Monitor techs present
• Cerner EMR
• Phillips telemetry
• RT support available
• Phlebotomy available
• No floating outside of the ER

Scheduling

• No block scheduling
• 4 weekend shifts per month
• Travelers are expected to work holidays unless the holiday falls during contracted time off
• May be placed on standby for low census
• 30-minute response time if called in from standby

Additional Notes

• Required to float to Peds ER
• Navy blue scrubs for RN
• No hoodies, sweatshirts, or sweat jackets
