Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

Location: Macomb, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Small critical access hospital in western Illinois
• Primarily outpatient care with some inpatient weekend rotation or coverage if outpatient volume is low
• Patient load varies daily based on census and scheduled hours
• Common patient diagnoses include stroke (CVA), orthopedic conditions (hip, knee, ankle, shoulder, back, neck), and vestibular disorders

Schedule

• Day shift, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
• Shift options: 4x10-hour or 5x8-hour shifts
• Weekend rotation every 6 weeks; holiday coverage as needed

Required Qualifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Strong orthopedic skills essential
• Pediatric experience highly preferred
• Generalist physical therapy skills aligned with basic PT education required

• Dress code: Black scrubs or black collared shirt with khaki pants
