Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• 2+ years of ER experience
• 1+ year of trauma experience
• ACLS
• BLS
• ENPC
• NIHSS
• PALS
• TNCC
• Epic experience
• Prior travel experience
• No license hits related to diverting meds or endangerment

Unit Details

• Emergency department with 55 beds total, plus 8-12 swing beds and 4 trauma bays
• Fast track area
• Separate triage area
• Separate psych/seclusion rooms
• 250 patients per day
• Ratios: 4:1 in main ED, 5:1 in accelerated care, 2:1 in critical care

Common Patient Types

• STEMI
• Stroke
• DKA
• Sepsis
• Trauma
• Respiratory diseases
• Behavioral health

Key Responsibilities

• Triage only after additional orientation and competency testing
• Transport critical patients
• Draw ABGs
• Set up small-dose breathing treatments
• Perform ECGs
• Manage patient holds as assigned

Scheduling

• Variable schedule
• Every other weekend
• Holidays required
• No call or standby
• No floating

Orientation

• First day with ED leadership and badging
• 2-3 bedside orientation shifts

Additional Notes

• Royal blue scrubs required
• Culturally competent care for a highly diverse patient population is expected
