Registered Nurse (RN) – 8E Stepdown (MedSurg Stepdown)

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Details

• Unit Type: 8 EAST - MedSurg Stepdown & Floor
• Beds: 34
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:

  • Stepdown: 1:3
  • Floor: 1:5-6
• Support Staff: 2-5 nurse aides typically assigned
• Respiratory Therapy: RT available in-house 24/7; vents present on unit
• Telemetry: Tele techs post strips each shift; RNs must be proficient in reading and interpreting telemetry strips
• Charge Nurse & Transport RN present from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM at optimal staffing

Schedule & Work Hours

• Shift: Nights
• Hours per Shift: 12 hours
• Hours per Week: 36 hours
• Shift Times: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Weekend and Holiday work required (frequency unspecified)

Required Certifications & Qualifications

• Current BLS Certification required
• RN license appropriate for West Virginia

  • Driver’s license address must be outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
  • Previous permanent candidates must have been gone for 2 years before reapplying
  • Previous travelers must have been gone for 2 years if they stayed for 1 full year
• All submissions must include an unexpired copy of the candidate’s driver’s license
