Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

Job Summary

As a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. You will develop nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff, communicate changes in patient conditions to appropriate team members, and participate in discharge planning.

Work Schedule

• Shift: Days (7 AM - 7 PM)
• No block schedule
• Weekend hours: Every other weekend
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
• No call requirements
• Float requirements: Yes

Unit Information

• Number of beds: 104 across five units (adult, pediatric, geriatric)
• Patient ratios: Approximately 1:8 (lower ratios for pediatric and geriatric patients)
• Patient population includes adults, pediatrics (ages 5-17), and geriatrics
• Common diagnoses: Schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, anxiety
• Electronic Health Record system: Cerner

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in an inpatient psychiatric/behavioral health setting
• BLS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

• Behavioral health nursing experience
