Unit Information

• Unit: Pediatric Intensive Care
• Number of Beds: 24
• Number of Staff: 36 Full-Time Equivalents (FTE)
• Shifts:

  • Day Shift: 1 Manager, 1 Charge RN (CNC), Patient Care Technician (PCT), Nurse Extern, Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Night Shift: 1 Charge RN (CNC)
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Equipment Used: ECMO, Ventilators
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech / Paper

Job Description

• Provide critical care nursing in a high-acuity, fast-paced pediatric intensive care environment.
• Typical procedures include management of ECMO and mechanical ventilation.
• Ideal candidate is flexible, a great communicator, enjoys teamwork, and thrives in a fast-paced setting.

Schedule

• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nevada
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), with experience within the last year
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience working with pediatric patients

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Pediatric Critical Care and ECMO is highly preferred

Floating Areas

• Pediatric Cardiac ICU (CICU)
• Neonatal ICU
• Pediatrics

Dress Code

• Royal Blue scrubs

Contract Length

• Approximately 13 weeks
