Job Opportunity: Medical Technologist

Location: Knoxville, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: Nights (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM), 3x12-hour shifts, alternating weekends
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Perform diagnostic testing on patient samples to assist physicians in diagnosis and monitoring of various disease states.
Follow standardized procedures and prepare samples for testing.
Analyze test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits.
Float to different lab areas as needed.
No call, no 48-hour shifts, and no block scheduling.
Work with EMR system (Cerner).
Scrub color: Gray.

Required Qualifications

Valid Medical Technologist license in Tennessee
Minimum 1 year of Medical Technologist experience within the last year
Certification as a Medical Technologist through ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HHS

Additional Information

This position is specifically for Medical Technologists (MT), not Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT).
Limited creativity and judgment required; typically reports to a manager or supervisor.
