Registered Nurse - PCU

Location: Smyrna, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Number of Beds: 12
Patient Ratio: 4:1
Staffing: 1 tech assigned to the unit
Equipment: GE Monitors, Nova glucometers, Pyxis medication dispenser
Documentation System: Meditech
Scheduling: Every other weekend required
Floating Policy: Rotation with full-time staff and other travelers
Patient Experience: AIDET communication, use of communication board, medication teaching
Certifications: Trauma Level III

Required Skills & Procedures

Post-cardiac catheterization care including TR band management
Advanced pulmonary treatments
Medication titration
No specific procedures performed on unit

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
Minimum 2 years of experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with PCU experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Additional Information

Positive attitude, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are essential
Dress Code: Charcoal gray scrubs required
Floating with full-time staff and other travelers
Unit emphasizes advanced skills and patient-centered care
