Travel RN Opportunity - New Mexico (Alamogordo)

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)

• Location: Alamogordo, New Mexico
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shifts: Multiple shifts available, start time varies between 3 PM and 7 PM
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend days worked per 6 weeks
• On Call Requirement: 2 on-call shifts required per 6 weeks (for emergencies or extra shifts)
• Floating: Possible but unlikely due to census
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4-5

• STEMIs
• Level I traumas
• Post-surgical complications
• Pregnancy complications
• Pediatrics
• Behavioral Health (BH)
• Emergency Department (ED) cases

Job Summary

• Practice independently in a similar clinical setting
• Provide routine and complex nursing care
• Manage long-range goals and clinical contingencies
• Delegate and assign tasks to other care providers appropriately
• Meet organizational competencies for leadership and nursing standards

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitor side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred

Licenses & Certifications (Current and valid)

• RN License in state of employment or compact license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from AHA
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification from AHA
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification from AHA
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification

Orientation & Competency

• New experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days
• Precepted onboarding with competency validations including Emergency Department-specific validation
• Newly licensed RNs may participate in residency or specific orientation programs
• Completion of annual competency verification required

This role is ideal for experienced RNs comfortable with a fast-paced Emergency Department environment and a diverse patient population including trauma, pediatrics, and behavioral health.
