Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Respiratory Therapy
- Shift: Days, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (06:30 - 19:00)
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Number of Openings: 1
- Weekend Hours: As required by facility
- Call Requirements: As required by facility
- Float Requirements: As required by facility
Licensure & Certifications
- Required Licensure: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), licensed with Missouri Board for Respiratory Care
- Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association only)
- Preferred Certifications: PALS
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- Must have skills/experience in adult critical care and working in a high-volume, busy Emergency Department (ED) with trauma experience
- Preferred skills: blood gas draw, blood gas processing on GEM, blood gas interpretation
Unit & Patient Information
- Licensed for 767 beds
- Patient ratios based on a point system and dependent on staffing
- Equipment used includes Avea ventilators, LTV transport ventilators, V60 Bipap, Bellavista (coming soon), Vapotherm, and Airvo for high flow oxygen therapy
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: EPIC
- Patient population includes respiratory patients across all hospital areas: SICU, CCU, CVICU, ED, Neuro, Trauma
- Pediatric patients are stabilized in the ED and transported to a sister hospital
Personality & Dress Code
- Strong, confident therapist with good time management skills
- Willingness to assist coworkers as time allows
- Dress code: Black scrubs only (Mercy standard)
