Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Respiratory Therapy
• Shift: Days, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (06:30 - 19:00)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Number of Openings: 1
• Weekend Hours: As required by facility
• Call Requirements: As required by facility
• Float Requirements: As required by facility

Licensure & Certifications

• Required Licensure: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), licensed with Missouri Board for Respiratory Care
• Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association only)
• Preferred Certifications: PALS

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience
• Must have skills/experience in adult critical care and working in a high-volume, busy Emergency Department (ED) with trauma experience
• Preferred skills: blood gas draw, blood gas processing on GEM, blood gas interpretation

Unit & Patient Information

• Licensed for 767 beds
• Patient ratios based on a point system and dependent on staffing
• Equipment used includes Avea ventilators, LTV transport ventilators, V60 Bipap, Bellavista (coming soon), Vapotherm, and Airvo for high flow oxygen therapy
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: EPIC
• Patient population includes respiratory patients across all hospital areas: SICU, CCU, CVICU, ED, Neuro, Trauma
• Pediatric patients are stabilized in the ED and transported to a sister hospital

Personality & Dress Code

• Strong, confident therapist with good time management skills
• Willingness to assist coworkers as time allows
• Dress code: Black scrubs only (Mercy standard)
