Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – General Surgical Unit (MS/Tele General Surgery)

• Unit Description:

  • 32-bed General Surgical Unit specializing in postoperative care
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
  • Focus on pain management, mobility, bedside procedures, and creating a healing environment
  • Collaboration with family practice physicians, hospitalists, and surgeons
• Work Schedule:

  • 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holidays as required
• Floating: Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals

Requirements

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing
• Licensure:

  • Registered Nurse license in Alabama or compact license (No temporary licenses accepted)
  • Must be registered in NURSYS
• Certifications: AHA BLS or Red Cross CPR
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience overall
  • At least 1 year experience in the specialty (General Surgical Unit/postoperative care)
  • Candidates with 18 months of experience under the highest professional license may be considered
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
